Initially developed through BornIdeas (Pty) Ltd, Re:Code comprised a collection of open-source software libraries and utilities that aid in academic research across various areas within the Computer Science field.
The main purpose of the project was to reduce code duplication when working with existing data sets and experimental approaches. Secondarily, the project aimed to make it as easy as possible for researchers to replicate published results.
Some of the fields covered by the Re:Code project were machine learning and evolutionary computation, while the problem domains covered image classification and plant disease identification.
